IBR Consult BV, a Dutch company established in Haelen (the Netherlands), is active in the fields of recycling, building materials and radiation. The main activities of the consultancy firm (IBR Research) are based on the research into the options for developing new mineral building products and for re-using and/or recycling waste materials into useful products. IBR also carries out research on natural radioactivity in processes and products and supports companies with their compliance to the relevant radiation legislation and regulation. IBR also carries out projects in the field of waste treatment and separation technologies. Furthermore, IBR develops binders for the pelletizing of several (waste) materials and supports the required process development. IBR developed different types of binders in their own laboratory. The applications of these binders are in the field of stabilisation in the road building, stabilisation and conditioning of industrial and sewage sludges, for improvement of the leachability of waste materials with enhanced contents of heavy metals and/or radionuclides and for the production of plate materials based on wood fibres. In cooperation with international licensees several of these products are being applied throughout Europe. IBR has a co-operation with a specialized German plant (Siempelkamp) for the treatment/reuse of radioactive contaminated and/or chemical contaminated waste (e.g. heavy metals, PCB’s). |
